Fig of the Week. #1 Violette de Sollies


Hardiness: So far this in it's 1dt season with me I brought it in for the winter. However it should survive down to 15F
Type: Unifere
Fruit Ripens: Late September
Fruit Color: Black Red Interior
Taste: TBD
Fruit Weight: TBD
Leaf Structure: Mostly Single lobes

A french fig with black fruit.
  • Dark purple, almost black, fruits have highly scented sweet red flesh.
  • Very large fruits.
  • Vigorous and very hardy down to -15
  • Self fertile
  • Unifara ripens in Sept
  • Does poorly in the rain

  1. Is this open or closed eye? Thinking yo get this one but I live in Pensacola Florida, it's hot and humid, wondering how it will hold up.
